Hard drive and USB drive support and compatibility for the MPLAY
The MPLAY supports all USB flash drives or USB hard drives up to 2TB in size formatted in FAT32 or NTFS file systems. For NTFS file systems, only MBR partition tables are supported; GUID partition tables are not supported.
GUID is a new partition table type and newer versions of Windows have begun offering it as an alternative to MBR. However, MBR should always be used for best compatibility.
Drives that use a GUID partition table will not be recognized by the MPLAY and must be reconfigured into one of the above supported formats.
New hard drives must be initialized and formatted with a computer before it is visible to the media player. Please refer to our Hard Drive Initalization Tutorial for additional information.
